Just for fun, I learned how to do quilling. Here's my 3D interpretation of a black cat's night prowl:

A nice feature of an artwork is that the person who views it is free to create his or her own interpretation. For example, my painting of "Life" can be interpreted at the microscopic cellular level, the macroscopic terrestrial level, or from a completely different perspective:

Design triggers our emotions directly, and emotions affect our actions far more than we usually realize. For example, a few simple lines and shading can evoke the feelings typically aroused by spooky surroundings:
