A technical example: During my Work Experience with the Central Laser Facility at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, I developed a system for modulating the light beam from a HeNe laser by a high speed servo-controlled "Flipper". I designed the system with CAD software and made the components with a 3D printer. In this screenshot of the flipper blade, the pins for mounting the blade to the servomotor arm have a radius of 0.49mm and the 6 pins in each row are spaced 2mm apart.

For my Minigolf Obstacle project, I used 3D Solidworks for design and a laser cutter to produce the parts.
