It's important to be able to present design ideas clearly to clients or to other members of a team. I'm English/French bilingual and I'm skilled in making PowerPoint presentations on a wide variety of subjects. Here's a sample slide in French concerning the problem of radioactivity from luminescent paint containing radium, that was used for instruments such as compasses and watches. Since the half-life of radium-226 is about 1600 years, these designs have created an enduring health hazard.

It's not only text that has to be translated when describing a design in a different language. Notice how in French a comma is often used as decimal separator and a period as digit group delimiter:
