2001 Montreal meeting

The 2001 Montreal meeting, which was organised by Gerhard and Waltraud Bickel, was held from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 September at St. Gallenkirch in Vorarlberg in Western Austria (223K map). Vorarlberg, the second smallest federal country of Austria, has some of the most impressive landscapes of Europe. The meeting hotel was the Gasthof Adler.

The longer duration of the 2001 meeting allowed two principal excursions to be made. On the Friday the Montreal cavalcade visited the Bieler summit by the Silvretta high alpine road in fine weather and there was a visit to a historical silver mine in Bartholomäberg and a lodge evening at Rellseck. On the rainy Saturday the participants enjoyed a guided tour of the world's largest Rolls-Royce Museum (Franz Vonier GmbH) and a gala evening was held at the Hotel Adler.
