2018 Montreal meeting

The 2018 Montreal meeting, which was organised by Rob Jones, Graham Gilgrass and Bob Jones, was held in the region of Inveraray in Argyll, Scotland, from 6 to 9 September. The venue was the 4-star Loch Fyne Hotel & Spa, ideally situated with uninterrupted views of Loch Fyne and beyond to the Cowal Hills. The meeting was attended by 88 people, coming from Austria, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Holland, Luxembourg, Sweden and Switzerland, as well as the UK, driving 36 Montreals and 6 other classic Alfa Romeo cars.

An illustrated programme was available in English, French, German and Dutch. The group visited Inveraray Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of the Clan Campbell, as well as the beautiful Arduaine Garden at Melfort. One lunch stop was held at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel on the shore of Loch Leven, and the visits also included the Hollow Mountain housing the underground power station of the Cruachan hydroelectric pumped storage system. The meeting had a traditional Scottish theme, whisky tasting being included in the events, and a bagpipe player provided entertainment after the final evening meal. After the meeting some participants took the opportunity to tour other areas of Scotland.
